Joyo R21 Tornado Overdrive and Boost Guitar Effects Pedal
The R21 by Joyo is a dual Overdrive and Boost pedal, housed in a single enclosure, created in conjunction with internationally acclaimed, Grammy-winning artist José de Castro as his signature Joyo pedal!
This versatile pedal is far more than a simple overdrive stompbox and is designed as a flexible and all-purpose drive pedal. The R21 features a 60s-style amp model one one side, with simple Bass, Treble, Volume and Drive controls. This classic overdrive features, smooth and rich amp-like response, with all the grainy roar of a pushed Blackface amp type, and with additional midrange making it very punchy and responsive to your playing. The Gain control saturates the overdrive much like real tube compression, and gives the amp a squashy response without altering the actual tone of your guitar, or adding unwanted fizzy distortion.
The Boost control sets the level of the switchable boost, which has massive headroom and offers clean output rather than additional gain. This allows you to push your preamp harder for natural amp distortion, cut through the mix for solos and lead lines, or with both sides of the pedal engaged, you’re instantly launched into singing, vintage solo tones.
The Tornado has been balanced to respond to various different styles of amplifier, and can be easily dialed in to play beautifully with British and American style amplifiers. Paired with a nice amp, this is all you need for rock and roll! It runs on standard 9V DC center-negative power supplies and requires only 90mA current draw.
